Strength: Skill Posititions- This is a 1A program that has skill position talent that can match almost any big school in the county. Led by QB Justin Feagin who is one of the premier athletes in the county. The running game will be very strong featuring duo Jake Walker and James Bradley, who both have the size to wear a defense down but also speed to make some big plays. On top of that, Feagin is also as electric as they come in the open field. The Stallions passing game is no slouch either featuring WR Dominique Battle and TE Alex Gottlieb. Expect AH to score alot of points this season.
Weakness: Depth- As is the case with so many 1A programs, they have some big times athletes who can compete with any, but just not the quantity that you need against big time opponents. American Heritage has plenty to get through their district, but when it comes to playing the toughest on their schedule, depth could pose a problem.
Key Player: QB/DB Justin Feagin- Feagin will now be entering his 4th year as a varsity football starter. His experience and athleticism will pose problems for any team that has to meet up with American Heritage. This is the type of athlete who can break a defenses heart because when it looks like a play has broken down, that's when Justin can be at his most dangerous. On top of that, he can also make a game changing play on defense or special teams.
Key Game: Week 9 vs. Benjamin- There are lots of challenging games on the schedule for Heritage, but the game against Benjamin will certainly be the most important because it should determine the district champion. It's a very important game for Heritage to win, as they will want to be on their home field in the postseason.
Outlook: Not to often will you find a 1A team with as many D-1 caliber athletes as you'll see at American Heritage this year. From Justin Feagin to Dominique Battle to Jake Walker to Stephen Bailey, the Stallions have the talent to play with any other 1A program in the state, and anything less than a trip to the state finals will be considered a disapointment. Being battle tested will not be a problem for this team, as they scheduled some brutal out of district opponents to prepare them for the postseason.
Prediction: 8-2, District Champion
