Countdown Continues.....#9 Palm Beach Central High School
Posted on 8/15/2007 @ 4:38 pm EDT by josh

Football Always one of the most talked about teams on the 561sports message boards, here is a preview of the Palm Beach Central Bronco's.

Team: Palm Beach Central

Schedule:
Week 1: Cardinal Newman
Week 2: Glades Central
Week 3: @ Inlet Grove
Week 4: Lake Worth
Week 5: Bye
Week 6: @ Park Vista
Week 7: @ John I. Leonard
Week 8: Seminole Ridge
Week 9: Wellington
Week 10: @ Royal Palm Beach
Week 11: @ Boynton Beach

Strength: Offensive Line- This unit was a strength last year, and it will be once again this year. Featuring 2 legitimate D-1 lineman is not something you find on alot of high school teams. The line is full of size and is also well coached. Most of the opponents on the schedule for the Broncos will get dominated up front.

Weakness: Speed- This is a very strong and physical football team, but other than the RB position, there is not alot of speed on this football team. When it comes time to face the high caliber opponents on the schedule, PBC could be in trouble and will have to try and gameplan around this. The biggest way for Central to overcome this problem will be a dominant running game which will keep the opposing offense off the field.

Key Player: QB Zach Todd- The passing game was a weakness all last year for Central, which kept the rushing attack from being as dominant as it could have been due to defenses not respecting the pass. If Todd can show improvement this year, it can really open up the offense for Palm Beach Central and turn them into a real dominant force. At the same time though, no improvement will once again keep this offense from reaching full potential.

Key Game: If this district is anything like last season, it's going to go down to the wire to determine who goes home and who keeps on playing. For that reason, the week 10 game @ Royal Palm Beach could very well be a must win situation for both teams.

Outlook: This team will compete with everyone on the schedule from a physical standpoint. Expect the rushing offense to be among the best in the county, which will help hide many of the flaws on this team. At the same time though, if those flaws don't improve, it will keep the Bronco's from beating the top teams on the schedule and prevent them from making a possible run in the postseason.

Prediction: 8-2 (3-1), T-1st in district
